Dubai
I was shocked when I was talking with one of my guests from previous job about Dubai...
He came to Dubai in 1972 and he saw all changes by his eyes. Dubai Marina, JLT, Palm Jumeirah, Business Bay and many others areas before Deira wasn't built yet. All that areas were created for just some 10 years. Can you immagine, no metro, no taxi, no trees, no city! Just sand and Deira. Sounds scary. We are lucky people came to Dubai, already new and modern, and we can easy move on the street, by taxi, metro or own car. And we are complaining about Dubai that here a lot of constructions and view is terrible. After 5 years Dubai will be one of the modern and fantastic cities in the World. Just have a look how many records Dubai has. It's unique Palm Jumeirah, unbelievable highest man built tower in the World Burj Khalifa, Dubai Marina was also created by human.
Each tree, each tower, each corner has been done by human hands.
Think how much government UAE spending for water to grow only one pal. Per year its 100$. Now, count how many palms located in UAE. Its huge amount, huge money. It's hard to understand that from beginning the area was sustained by fishing and pearl diving for a thousand years.
However major turning point in the history and fortunes of Dubai was the discovery of oil in 1966 which changed the country beyond recognition and led to Dubai becoming the vibrant, modern, business-centred city. Once the first shipment of oil was made in 1969, the future of Dubai as an autonomous state was secured, and its ability to dictate policy in later years to the UAE was cemented.
Despite the international turmoil over the cost of oil, Dubai is already considered to be the Hong Kong of the Middle East. When the world's oil supply runs out and it's no longer needed, Dubai would survive in a new oil-free world unlike Riyadh. Commercial activity in the Dubai region would simply grow instead of wither because Dubai was a major trading center centuries before oil was known to even exist.
During the 21st century, Dubai may have to implement policies that move away from globalization and toward localization to conserve their energy resources, provide local jobs to citizens of the United Arab Emirates instead of foreign citizens, and maintain their local decision-making authority.
For UAE painful to think that the last remaining oil deposits will run out at the end of 2029. That's why all power for creation and support country in future was put in the tourism.
Government UAE supporting non-GCC citizens with providing different laws which can be changed in future. And many thousands employers working hard for UAE because they are feeling that support.
Government giving support for investors as well.
After purchasing property with cost 1 million AED and more, person can apply for 2 years resident visa as investor. And he can include his wife or kids in the contract as an owner to get visa for them, but need to be sure that amount of the people no more that rooms in the property, its mean if its 3 BR apartment with cost 1,5 million AED, buyer can include two more people in the contract and to get for them visa.
However in Dubai there are some areas where buyer can not buy property for him self, for example Jumeirah. Everybody known that Jumeirah only for arabic people, and only arabic residents or locals can purchase property there and to keep it for themselves or to give it for rent any nationality.
Also in Dubai there is some areas, where non-resident can buy property from 11- 99 years only. That areas called leasehold. After 99 years government taking property back. That areas mostly located in Deira and somewhere in Al Barsha.
UAE citizens however getting big support from government. If local arabic family planning to born a baby, government giving house for all family free with education for child in future at any School or University in the World. Mostly local mans can be married on women different nationalities, however in this case they will not be supporting by government as in case when the wife UAE local. Government can pay for rent of their house, no more. I'm personally have a local friend, who is married on european lady, they born a baby boy and government paying for rent of their 3BR villa.
Different emirate has different was and regulations. Which history has Adu Dhabi and what the regulations it has, please read above..
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is an island located on the coast of the Persian Gulf.
It is the capital and the second most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and also capital of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the largest of the UAE's seven emirates. Abu Dhabi's rapid development and urbanisation, coupled with the relatively high average income of its population, has transformed the city into a large and advanced metropolis. Some sources saying that Abu Dhabi is the fourth most expensive city for expatriate employees in the region and in 2014 was the 68th most expensive big city in the world, but I'm absolutely not agree. Abu Dhabi much cheaper than Dubai and Moscow, Russia. What do we need for life? Food, to pay for rent and education of our kids. Abu Dhabi became modern enough. A lot of supermarkets, shopping malls with monthly discounts on things. Schools and Universities wasn't so cheap somewhere else and basically mostly Universities has arabic teachers. About rent - it's cheaper than in Dubai.
Abu Dhabi long time from beginning worked in the pearl business and traded with others. According to a source about pearling, the Persian Gulf was the best location for pearls. Pearl divers dove for one to one-and-a-half minutes, and would have dived up to thirty times per day. There were no oxygen tanks and any other sort of mechanical device was forbidden. The divers had a leather nose clip and leather coverings on their fingers and big toes to protect them while they searched for oysters. The divers were not paid for a day’s work but received a portion of the season’s earnings.
In the 19th century, as a result of treaties entered into between Great Britain and the sheikhs of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf, Britain became the predominant influence in the area as interest in the oil potential of the Persian Gulf grew. In the 1930s, as the pearl trade declined, interest grew in the oil possibilities of the region. After 6 years, on 5 January 1936, Petroleum Development Ltd (PDTC), an associate company of the Iraq Petroleum Company, entered into a concession agreement with the ruler, Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan al Nahyan, to explore for oil. After that economic of Abu Dhabi grown fast.
This was followed by a seventy-five-year concession signed in January 1939.
Abu Dhabi Island is also connected to Saadiyat Island by a five-lane motorway bridge which was completed in 2011. This is a multilayer interchange bridge and it has 27 lanes which allow roughly 25,000 automobiles to move per hour. There are three major bridges of the project, the largest has eight lanes, four leaving Abu Dhabi city and four bridges coming in.
Now, in 2016 Abu Dhabi one of the most fast growing and rich capitols in the World. Only in Abu Dhabi you will find Ferrari World, Formula 1, biggest shopping mall on the island, luxury SPA and Hotels, biggest Mousq in the World, many restaurants and etc.
Sharjah
Sharjah is the third largest city in the United Arab Emirates after Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It contains the main administrative and commercial centres together with an array of cultural and traditional projects, including several museums covering areas such as archaeology, natural history, science, arts, heritage, Islamic art and culture. Many Sharjah residents travel 15 km to visit Dubai on the weekend.
Sharjah is most cheapest emirate in UAE. From rental cost till food in supermarkets. However in Sharjah more strict rules. There is no alcohol, no bars, no luxury hotels. This Emirate more oldest others.
Sharjah has National Park which covers an area of nearly 630 thousand square feet of area.
Also in Sharjah you can find Sharjah aquarium in Al Layyeh with over 250 species to see right from the delicate seahorses to smallest clown fish, reef sharks, rays and moray eels.
Taxis in Sharjah are clean, well maintained and reasonable. Sharjah Public Transportation Corporation is organizing and supervising the operations of taxis in Sharjah Emirate. Sharjah taxi service is provided through franchise companies. They cover all parts of the Emirate and cities, including shopping centres, residential areas and airport. Following are the major taxi operators in the emirates.
Your blog is unbelievably fantastic. This is very nice and informative blog.UAE National Day 2019.
